Agriculture was once the backbone of life in the region, and in many villages it still is. Kar û Cotyarî (Work and Farming) documents that life without romance: early mornings, uncertain rain and prices that change from week to week.
A full year
The programme follows several families across twelve months — ploughing in autumn, sowing wheat, pruning vines, and finally the harvest. Along the way agricultural engineers explain new irrigation methods and seed varieties.
Young people who return to the land after studying in the city are a recurring theme. Some bring new ideas such as greenhouses and online sales; others simply want to continue what their grandparents began.
